Sight-Seeing in Accra

Accra has a mixture of modern buildings, shanty towns, lively markets and occasional castles; if you ever manage to go to Accra the following are places that you must add to your list for visiting:

·         Makola Market – Don’t forget to take your sense of humor with you when you go here, and leave your camera and valuables behind, Makola market is hectic, but a fun experience. Everything you ever thought could possibly be bought or sold can be found here.

·         Labadi Beach – one of the best beeches of Accra.

·         Oxford Street, Osu – This place has some of Accra's best restaurants, bars and shops.   Beware though, as traffic is bumper to bumper, all adding to the general exuberant atmosphere.

·         The National Museum has wonderful displays about Ghana's culture and history including the slave-trade, and the Ashanti Kingdom. The National Museum  is open daily from 9am - 5pm.
